Tasting notes:  Jenn’s Blend is a harmonious combination of flavors, aromas and colors.  The bouquet is bold and fragrant - bright floral, red cherry, clove and blackcurrant notes converge with bittersweet chocolate, leather and coffee cake.  Vibrant flavors of warm berry cobbler, violets and cherries melt into subtler prune, lavender, truffle and spice.  Apricot and honeydew flirt with the mid-palate, and lead into a savory finish of cedar and mocha.  Brilliant ruby in color, rich and velvety in texture, Jenn’s Blend provides an exciting tasting experience that appeals to all senses.

Tasting notes: The stunningly dark, inky pigment of Sunset Passion is mesmerizing at a glance, and alludes to the bewitching experience that follows.  Sultry aromas of black cherry, black licorice, raspberry and blueberry infuse with freshly ground pepper, fennel, pipe tobacco and smoky oak, along with a trace of hazelnut and tiramisu.  Supple berry flavors lead the palate, while cherry cola, tart plum and citrus-mint offer an enchanting peek into the wine’s acidity.  One by one, grape seeds, soft leather and a subtle gaminess are exposed, divulging a spellbinding complexity.  The intriguing finish delivers blackberry, cassis, cranberry, tea, and a tingly, effervescent mouthfeel.  Sunset Passion is an arresting fusion of flavor, character and structured tannins.
Pairs well with:  Lamb with braised fennel, prime rib, stewed chicken with tomatoes and peppers, beef fajitas, ratatouille, or penne pasta with sausage, mushrooms, red sauce and a Caesar salad.

Tasting notes: The 2010 Ramona Blush, our inaugural blush wine, is filled with subtle sweetness and exotic tastes that will transport you to a chaise lounge in the tropics.  The aromas, suggestive of a balmy island breeze, reveal a fragrant blend of pineapple, banana, Fuji apple, and raspberry, with a touch of mineral and orange creamsicle.  Watermelon, honey, strawberry and apple juice flavors develop into sun-kissed tropical fruits, white peach and vanilla.  Sweet clementine and steely notes then lure you into a lusty hibiscus-melon finish.  Our Ramona Blush is a well-balanced blush wine, structured yet soft.  It will surely turn any occasion into a sensory escape to paradise.
Pairs well with:  Light seafood dishes such as halibut with citrus glaze or teriyaki salmon, fish tacos, and salad with walnuts, berries, nectarines and goat cheese will complement the sweeter fruit flavors.  Thai food’s spicy coconut based curries will offer a pleasant contrast.  This is also a great brunch wine!

Serving recommendation:  This wine was made to be enjoyed while young, chilled, and on a warm, sunny day.  Serve immediately after opening.  Drink now through 2013.

2008 Cabernet Sauvignon

50% Paccielo Vineyard/50% Adobe Vineyard
Reviewed by Dawna Ertel Mar. 11, 2011

Tasting notes: This is a delightfully flirty Cab that will charm your taste buds.  Its traditional aromas of currant, leather and truffle are layered with an unexpected softness of plum, strawberry candy and stewed fruits.  The initial tasting offers surprisingly light cherry and plum flavors that evolve into fresh spearmint and herbs.  Warm spices and oak develop just as the frisky tannins are enlivened, as a reminder that though gentle and feminine at first glance, this is a full bodied wine with a backbone.  Then the tannins tenderly fade away, leaving caramel, currant, espresso and faint tobacco as a memory of the encounter.  If Cabernet Sauvignon is the king of grapes, then this is quite certainly the queen of Cabs.
Pairs well with:  Roast beef, grilled steak, leg of lamb, hearty poultry dishes, duck breast with cherry glaze, and Indian food will complement and exploit the contrasting lighter and bolder notes in this wine.
Serving recommendation:  Ready to drink upon opening, or let breathe for an hour to allow the flavors to open up. Drink now through 2014.
Varietal Composition: 100% Cabernet Sauvignon
Alcohol by Vol: 13.8%
Case Production: 43

Tasting notes: The 2008 Merlot is a sensory delight, full of luscious fruit and sumptuous spice.  Fragrant rose petals, currants, prunes and black cherries mingle with the alluring aromas of nutmeg, cloves, caramelized sugar and toasted oak.  Seductive floral notes and a satiny texture evoke flavors of strawberry, raspberry, fig and soft leather.  Darker plum, spice, and molasses follow, and coalesce with temptations of chocolate covered cherries and caramel apple.  The finish is satisfying, bursting with dried cherries, juicy raisins, and oak.

Pairs well with:  Dishes with herbal or sweeter notes will complement the fruits and spices in this wine.  Roast poultry with cherries and thyme, lamb with mint, honey glazed ham, steak or chicken with mushrooms, mushroom risotto, and rich stews will provide an excellent pairing.

Serving recommendation:  This wine is ready to uncork and enjoy now!  Drink now through 2015.

2009 Sangiovese
Ramona Valley
Paccielo Vineyard TM
Reviewed by Dawna Ertel Feb. 09, 2011
Tasting notes:
This Sangiovese is deliciously reminiscent of a Tuscan classic with its bright acidity, soft tannins, and bittersweet fruit.  Enticing aromas of cherry, currant, strawberry jam, and sundried tomato are touched with a hint of white pepper and tea leaves.  Soft tannins embrace the full flavors of cherry and strawberry that stimulate the palate.  The mid-palate offers an intriguing combination of rose, white tea, grape soda and tangy sundried tomato.  The firm finish delivers cherry-vanilla and pepper, as well as fresh pine that lingers like a slow walk through the woods.
Pairs well with:
Hearty pasta dishes with tomato-based sauce, roast meats and game, eggplant, cured meats, and tangy Italian cheeses such as Pecorino Romano will work well to balance the wine’s acidity and compliment its flavors.
Serving recommendation:
This wine is at its best when aerated.  Uncork 1-2 hours before drinking to let the tannins soften.  If time doesn’t allow, the use of a wine aerator will bring out its best qualities.  Drink now through 2014.
Varietal Composition: 100% Sangiovese
Alcohol by Vol: 13%

Case Production: 24 at 1st bottling

Barrel aged: 8 months in American Oak
